I really do like to see things like this happen. Tesla is having repair vans for the convenience of its customers. I hope they use the Pacifica phev for that ;)

Twenty fully-electric police cars will also be added to the fleet this year
VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has a pair of new toys, and you won’t even hear them coming.

Two electric California-made Zero Motorcycles have been added to the department’s fleet, which you will soon see on the roads, mainly downtown.

“They do not replace the Harley Davidson motorcycles that we currently have, but serve a very specific purpose in our traffic section: the electric motorcycles will be dedicated to cyclist and pedestrian safety,” says chief Adam Palmer.“When you compare our new electric motorcycles to the Harley Davidsons… you’ll see the electric motorcycles have no fuel, no oil, no clutch, no gears, no transmissions, and best of all, no emissions.”

The bikes have a range of up to 227 kilometres, and a top speed of 165 kilometres per hour.

The VPD already has two fully-electric cars and eight hybrid vehicles in its fleet for use by investigative and administrative staff.

Another 20 fully-electric cars will be added later this year.
